Hi I’m Jen, the History Maven!  I’m the one with the Southern accent and obsession with all the historically spooky things.  I am obsessed with the 1950s and even bought a house to restore to its original glory.  However, I didn’t bargain for the spirits.  After surviving breast cancer I had a slight existential life crisis and decided to start this podcast.  My interest in history comes from my dad and my mom loves all things mysterious . Combine the two and Mavens of Misdeeds was born in 2020.  I am a walking encyclopedia of somewhat useless historical knowledge and a big-time believer in preserving every culture’s unique oral traditions/folklore.  I believe we can all find some common ground if we study and learn about each other’s cultures.  I created this podcast to make folklore and history approachable and fun for all, and if a few spirits, cryptids, UFO’s or other phenomena join the party, all I can say is Welcome Y’all!

Hi! My name is Yasmine, she/her pronouns, I have an awesome, hilarious husband, named Nick. We've been together for 14 years and we have two amazing kids; Max, who’s 13, artist and genuinely funny kid. And Henrik, 9 loves baseball, his dogs and has a potty mouth to rival a 14 year old. We have 3 huskies, Loki, Lyca and Rex, a sweet cornsnake we call Poppy and a treat begging goldfish named Fredrick. We live in the desert of Southern California-not as close to the cool stuff that I’d like, but we're close to family so it's not all bad.

Hobbies; I run the PTO at my kids school, am a baseball mom, and make inappropriate hand embroidery. I am interested in true crime, folklore, historical culture and all things paranormal or unexplained. I turn 37 this year and although my life is full of love and fun I see this podcast as an opportunity to do something just for me, indulge my curiosity and maybe make some new friends while I do it.
